Sorry TIm, I don't have all the specs on the various ILT vaccines, but there was a recent article in the February 15, 2013 JAVMA (Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association). I'm quoting this,BTW, some ILT vaccines can spread the disease to non-vaccinated birds. I'm getting in to an area that I'm not qualified to talk about really, so Clare PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong. There is shedding and non-shedding ILT vaccine. I think the non-shedding is the best because it will not affect non-vaccinated birds.
Tim
"For control of ILT, chickens can be immunized with attenuated live virus vaccines. These vaccines can be delivered via eye-drops, aerosols, or drinking water. However, modified-live vaccines possess variable degrees of residual virulence, which may increase with serial passage among birds and can cause disease in flocks."
I myself don't vaccinate. I have had respiratory disease after shows which I have treated with antibiotics. This obviously won't cure viral diseases such as ILT.
