I have light brahma hens and a buff brahma rooster. I want to hatch some of the eggs. My question is..will the chicks be a combination of the two colors or will some be light & some be buff?
I have 2 pair of Dark Brahma bantams both with good type, but both with obvious size differences. I'm wanting some advice which cockerel to use in a breeding pen with both girls. One girl is rather small, and the other more correct size and the same with the boys.
I have been told size is a concern in the dark lines. Anyone with any advice would be much appreciated.
Well my grey/blue brahma hen now has seven chicks under her wings - three gold, two grey/gold and two grey. Here's to a great broody mama! Will post up pics soon, I promise
Evening To All....just wanted to stop by and let folks know how pleased I'am with the longevity as layers my light brahmas are. I have 7 hens that are 6 years old and I'm still getiing 3 eggs a day. They are the nicest birds. I tryed to find some local birds here, however it's not as easy as i thought it would be.
I have other projects with black javas and Buckeyes for the present time. The brahmas will always have a place here free ranging and entertaining. Just proud of those old women, and needed to share!
