I am seriously starting to think about building another small coop so I can get a couple more Brahmas. I just love the two I have. They're not mean (to each other) as the Wyandottes & Orpingtons and not as flighty as the EE's. Plus, I love the size! I'm just not sure if I should go back to Ideal, or look for some elsewhere.

Oh no, I had a great experience with Ideal. Got 15 chicks last spring, one died within a day (think it was a failure to thrive situation) and the 14 left are all fat and healthy. I'm dithering because I love the colors that I've seen on this thread that Ideal does not have, that's all.

I was checking my buff brahma chick 3 weeks old now and I noticed that she is missing 2 tallons on each foot from the feathered toe and the 1 next to it, can you tell me would this be a birth defect or genetic?

Depends somewhat on the color of the males used initially. But in the long run, if repeated for multiple generations, I would guess you will end up with smutty semi patterned brassy/buff birds.

Does anyone know who Darlene Hobbs is? I purchased some LF lights from her & hoping they are good lines. From the Brahma club point list it says she is.. Any thoughts on her lines?

I know Darlene. Very nice lady. She knows Brahmas. I would imagine her birds are from Kim and Kendra Aldrich, or even back to Bill Bowman. She mostly shows Bantams, but she would not have birds if they are not top-notch.
