its called a pea comb some chickens just develops it . my australorp has one just like it.
yes they do but that doesnt mean they can't develops a pea comb some times it just happens. And yes I slept Americana wrong. Your point?
I agree with @annageckos. In order to be an australorp your chicken would have to have a single comb. Some breeds, like wyandottes, can have the wrong comb if they come from a hatchery because their comb type is dominant so can cover up other comb types. However, pea combs are dominant to single combs, so the only way your chicken can have a pea comb is if he is actually an australorp cross.
Additionally, chickens cannot develop a new comb type. If a chick is born with a single comb it will have a single comb for the rest of its life.
