Breeds that you absolutely HATE

I'm creeped out by the eyes of Australorps. They remind me of the all-black eyes in creepy horror flicks. I got 2 of them because I had heard what sweeties they are, but those eyes... I had to get rid of them.

My EE. She is skittish and when we try to get her she flies at my face. She acts like she's been drinking Red Bull.

We had one (EE that is) that was everybody's favorite as a chick. She'd sit on your lap and let you pet her. Since I put them out in the big coop, you can't get near her. Her sister was always super skiddish and hasn't gotten any better. She doesn't even come over for treats.

Mervin...even her coopmates think she is a loon. We don't even try to lure her over to us anymore because it just stresses her out. Unfortunately, we can't let her out of the run because she is all over the place and it is impossible to catch her.

I wouldn't say that I "hate" any particular chicken breeds, but I am not a big fan of the turkens (although they are cute as babies) -- they remind of a buzzard.

I don't care much for silkies either. We bought one with our first set of chicks and one of the RIR pecked her on the head, she was walking around crooked necked for awhile. I gave her back to the breeder -- I was afraid the other chickens were going to hurt her even more. I also don't like the black jersey giants; we had one that was really mean to the other chickens and freaked out everytime I tried to change out the water and feed. The coop is a lot calmer without her around. I really like my SLW and black copper marans. I didn't think I would like any bantams, but we recently acquired two mille fleur d'uccles and a bantam ameraucana. They are so cute and sweet. My DH prefers the bigger dual purpose chickens and we are going to get some brahmas and maybe some more wyandottes next year.

I like ALL chickens. Some I like better than others but I like them all. I especially like Silkies and I also like the fierce look of a giant Asil, Shamo or Thai. Asian gamefowl are very intelligent and I never had one that did not mind being picked up and held. They will not kick at you or flap their wings in your face like some other chickens.
