Breeds that you absolutely HATE

I doubt you will need to worry about buying one anytime soon. They are on the verge of becoming extinct and there are none in the US. Most people probably will never realize the loss.

I don't really hate any of them. I just think some of them are ugly, haha. But I'm sure the ugly ones can be pretty in coloration, or sweet in personality, so therefore they would probably grow on me if I had them myself. Any game fowl other than Americans and Old English I find to look kind of...strange. I don't particularly care for naked necked chickens.

One kind I do dislike greatly, and would rather not have, is cornish and broiler chickens in general. I raise market broilers every year for the pen-of-3 show at the fair....but they are fat, nasty, and not very bright. They aggrivate the snot out of me.

I would have to say Delawares,Rhode Island Reds, hatchery Marans roos . ~ (all I've ever had where evil ), any naked necks. Sorry they just are not for me. I'm on the line with silkies, cute as chicks but adults? I also don't care for top hat chickens.

He is doing well these days. His brooder mate is a scissor beaked Silkie and he feels it is his job to be her personal dental hygienist. I will head over to the Pippin thread now so as not to hijack the thread.

Did anyone mention the cornish cross yet? What gluttons! Economically disgusting birds! That said, I have to go and re-fill their feeder!

I really hate Naked Necks. I think they are just wrong looking. Eww.

There are a few that just dont like and have had and will never want again.

TOP OF THE LIST:
EE's
Frizzles (absolutely hate them, they are hideous bastardizations of what a breed should look like) IMO

HATE HATE HATE Mutts!! Hate mixed up chickens that dont look like anything......
Not a fan of Japanese
and yes, Silkies...I know they have value as natural incubators, just dont like the way they look.
Not a real big fan of the long tail breeds either.

BUT...I do actually like Naked Necks. They are some of the best chickens I have ever raised. Layed very well, very hardy and wow you wanna talk a bout a meat bird! They put all other dual purpose breeds to shame in that regard. I understand how some people might not like them though. haha

I do like the Oriental breeds though, they are the foundation of so many of the breeds we have and they exude such power and elegance!

If you keep any breed as mainly pets, bantams or silkies and the likes are cute. I prefer LF or standard size chickens.
