Has to be Turkens. Those things gotta be the ugliest creature on God's green earth. Sorry, but they really creep me out. They look like they have some terminal illness.

Sheesh you guys! I love all the chickens I've ever known, even the mutts. The most intelligent, personable ones I've had were EEs, but I've known sweet ones of almost every breed, even roosters. I guess I wouldn't choose to own Cornish X or Leghorns if I had to pick, but that's based on reputation rather than personal knowledge. My Turkens, Marans, RIRs, Amberlink, EEs and Java all love to sit in my lap; the BO X Buff Cochins my hen hatched out this year are skittish and weird. They're all cute in their own way, though, and I can't think of any breed I dislike.

Billfields, thanks for the link. Those Dongtao's are the ugliest things I have ever seen. They look like they are wearing furry boots but, maybe its just an intense mite invasion. Turkens look to me like they have some disease tho, I admit Showgirls are kinda cute in a bulldog sorta way. I think the poofiness (from silkies) gives them an elegant duster look - great for fine furniture, with a built in handle(their head)

I wanted to chime in with Modern Games. long legged freaks. I'm not in love with silkies, though I have a small flock here at the house... they aren't mine... I just board them. They really aren't cute... and the five toes... ew. Now, I just got my first turken... I think she is cute. Ugly cute... personality is much better than the silkies too.


And who was it who mentioned Delawares!?!?!? How can anyone hate a Delaware!?!?!?!??!?! Blows my mind! Don't like a bird who is a great layer of large brown eggs and makes a good table bird!?! I don't know why theirs were mean... mine are sweeter and more well behaved than my dogs. (shakes head and walks away) Delawares. Hmmph.

I didn't know that Turkens were the same thing as Naked Necks.

We always call them Naked Necks. I didn't know they were called Turkens. But anyway, wow they are so ugly.
