Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance EX Sale?

IT'S HERE!!! It was re-routed to my office. Seeing as it should be a Christmas gift, I guess I shouldn't really open it...or set it up...or test it with eggies...*sigh*

My second Octagon 20 Advance EX arrived today. I'll be up quite late putting it together (taking a break from re-arranging the guest room/Incubator Room for the new unit right now) and setting it up for the backlog of eggs that need to go into it tomorrow morning.

I don't know when mine is going to show up but that is going to be the hard part. Keeping my HANDS OFF it! I don't know if I will be able to make it to Christmas!

I KNOW!!! I didn't even take it out of the shipping box, I just put it in the other roo. I was thinking, though, that I really should open it to pull the literature out in case something must be mailed for the warranty. My luck, I'll have hidden this thing and then something will be wrong when I'm ready to put my eggies in!

I escaped the gravitational pull of the Brinsea sale! I had an attack of SANITY and distracted myself until the sale was over.....WHEW ! That was tough! Now I know I won't buy it because it's not on sale now. It's terrible to have competing compulsions: chickens and bargains.

Top ten reasons to open the box before Christmas:
10. Need to read the instruction manual more than once so that when the time comes I will know how to use the bator.
9. Need to send that warrantee card in so it is covered.
8. Need to make sure all the parts are there so if something is missing you can contact the company right away.
7. Need to make sure that nothing got damaged in the shipping process.
6. Need to assemble it and make sure everything is working properly.
5. Need to "just look at it" and think about the chicks you are going to hatch "next year".
4. Need to keep it running for a while to make sure that it keeps working properly.
3. Need to put some eggs in it just to make sure that they will fit.
2. Need to leave the eggs in it to make sure that the auto turner is working properly.
1. Ah heck, the bator is on, the eggs are in it, might as well just let it run and hatch some chicks! That way you know that it will work properly "next year" when you want to hatch some chicks!

You know that they will probably run another sale before Christmas right? It might not be as good, but it could be!

I LOVE YOUR 10 RATIONALIZATIONS ! BRILLIANT !

Yes, they will probably tempt me with visions of incubators dancing in my head before Christmas. Sigh! Unfortunately I don't have a DH or significant other to buy it for me......which means I have to bite the bullet myself and the property taxes are due before Christmas (the state wants to be sure and get their money before we spend it on presents for others).

Must find a way.......must find a way.......must find......... ....... ....... ......
