Could be.The birds were just given to me as my dad was friends with the man that had them. I think the shell was thin I'm not sure, sorry. I'm testing them now to see if one will eat and egg I put in the coop, one pecked at it a bit but didn't break it, could she be the culprit?
Did she walk away when it didn't break?
Thin shells are often the reason they eat eggs,
it's more of a 'bad egg' problem than an 'egg eating' problem.
I had to cull a thin shell layer this year, those thin shells definitely garnered the attention of the other birds and several actively searched for them to eat.
Once I got rid of that bird, I had no more 'egg eating' problems.
