Broody Bantam Sebright - is she serious?

Then why would you bother? Being broody can be very stressful on a hen and if there are no fertilized eggs that would even hatch, what would the point be?
I love the broody-baby-momma experience. have you had this experience?
It’s an amazing thing to get to see. I rarely have it happen and I don’t want to miss an opportunity for it. Plus I don’t find it to be bad for the hen - they do it to themselves and love their babies.

I just get some eggs from a neighbor. Not a big deal. I just don’t want to do it if she’ll quit next week.

I say go for it. I also have a extremely broody sexlink. She goes broody twice a year. And no matter how hard we try, 1 month later she’s back to brooding, if we don’t give her eggs. She is a good momma too. so sometimes they say “Screw what we were breed for, I want to be a mom!”

My 2 year old sebright, Amanda, is broody - has been for 3 days. Is she serious? I thought they didn’t go broody? If I get her eggs will she go the distance?

Thanks!
We have a broody sebright hen as well! Her first egg pipped this morning! She is taking it very seriously and has only left her nesting area for food and drink once every other day. She has seven eggs. We are hoping for at least one to make it. She really seems to want to be a mother.
