Looks like mom is getting the hang of things.. tbh Im not sure about the pasty butt, could be too warm for them but idk..@Fields Mountain Farm this is a friend of mine do you have any idea what could be going on here?
Well, all are out and about for the first time.. all seem well..
Maybe since they stayed under mama so much they were being kept too warm? View attachment 1724732View attachment 1724733View attachment 1724734View attachment 1724735View attachment 1724736View attachment 1724737View attachment 1724739

You can stop the worry train now! She is taking care of those chicks! She will show them how to scratch and how to roost and they will follow her everywhere! You can relax and let nature take it's course now! Very, very cute little group, I love it! Sorry about little Nina it's hard to loose one, but focus on your little chick family! Thanks!! Perfectly normal! She'll do that for a few days then once they are good at staying close and answering her calls she will back off a bit.. kinda like human moms and their littles..lolThank you
One question.. is it normal for them to scratch around for only about 10 minutes and then her call them back and just sit on them again?... All aboard the “crazy train”!!.. that’s more like it for me
It seems little Lucy wants to be out and about.. she is very feisty! Always sitting on mamas back!
