Broody Silkie turned adoptive mother!

Adorable!!
How long was she broody, before you gave her the chicks?

Glad they seem to be doing well. I have pasty butt issues with bantam cochin broody babies sometimes too. After you clean it off, if you dab a little Vaseline around the vent and mat down the fluff under their vent, the poop seems to fall easier. I think they just sometimes have to get the swing of how to tuck their bottoms under to get the poop to drop properly. :p

Welcome!
I was thinking if she hadn't been sitting very long, it may take her more time to snap out of broody mode, but it looks like all is well now.
And I agree, there isn't much more precious than watching a hen teaching the babies. Melts my heart every time!
