I'd also like to point out that a friend of mine went to a poultry show in CT and there were some big bame Silkie breeders there. She purchased a Silkie rooster who was acting very lathargic by the next day. By three days he couldn't open his eyes. Took it too the vet and he had MG. This is from a well known breeder and she had no idea. I breed my birds to be hardy and resistant and only sell as pets, not to breeders or people who wanna heavily show. It's all around and if you even attend a show you very well can bring it home to your flock. I have 4 year old birds who never show symptoms. The strong will live and be resistant and the weak perish. I don't mind people wanting to keep it out of their flock but in the mountains of NY, I have wild birds left and right sharing the pasture with my birds. If I were to cull my flock and start over, it would come right back cause of the wildlife. It's in nature for a reason to keep the strongest alive so I will let it do that.....plus I love my birds and don't wanna kill them, lol. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Actually thats not true your more out to get mg from a bird you get from someone else then wild birds ive gotten a few that had it but culled them asap because the breeders didnt wanna cull them themselves also most breeders dose their birds with tylan before selling so symptoms go away then new owners find out and think its from their birds which is why I will never buy someones throwaways again anything mg like symptoms gets culled never had an issue as soon as i stopped buying so called breeders birds...i thought breeders were suppose to be good but nope theyre just money hungry

Oh I use to test my flock every year and had a closed flock. Started getting ravens and blue jays and it piped up that same year. Talk to the state health department when they NPIP tested my birds and she said that it was more likely it came from the wild birds. I think it depends where you live but don't say it's not true. Like I said, god bless if you can keep it out of your flock. I let it be known mine have it or I wouldn't publically post all this. Not all breeders are money hungry, but some are.

My birds may be fine in my yard, and my friends birds may be fine in her yard. But our birds in each others yards may get sick. They can build up immunities where they are raised, to things that may not show until they go somewhere else.

tylan 200 is 4xs concentrated so you would inject less which sounds good for the chicken in theory BUT with yours being chicks It would next to impossible to get a correct dose so you should get the 50.
Sounds good to me because it’s much cheaper lol and the fact that they are so small made me nervous on dosing.

Ally, I use diabetic "short" needles and you can alternate breast muscle or sub Q top of neck is good for sub q . Do you have a scale ? someone else will have to dose them.

I think this has gotten a little out of hand. I just wanted info for my birds and how to treat them. Please no more negativity.
If you think it could be mycoplasma you could start with Tylan, but the injectable, which can be given or orally or by injection, should be given 3-4 times a day. Since Tylan 50 and Tylan 200 can cause injection site necrosis, I would give it orally.

Tylan also makes a powder that you could use in the water:

You could also try Denagard or Bayrtil
