Bugs & Problems With The New Platform

It takes an average of 4-5 seconds for a page to change.
I have not recieved an email notification since 1/30/12
When I go to my subscription page it shows NO updated posts since 1/30/12
BYC sucks now.......glad there is FaceBook................
IF I were to attempt to find solutions to thesse problems via FAQs on this thread I would be sitting at my PC for the rest of time.....SO...FIX THIS mess guys.
Gee, I wonder if I will even get a notification that this thread has been updated??????
I am subscribed.......ya think??????

I have also been frustrated with the newly formatted but deathly slow BYC site.
I have to say that it bothers me enough that I dont visit the site much any more. It used to be my most frequently visited spot on the internet!

I hope that something can be done to resolve it.

I'd prefer the site to go back to the way it was - even though it didn't look as slick.

You are in an album.
You click on ADD PHOTOS
(spinner comes up) *
You choose pic(s) and CHECK the `I'll be good' box
You choose UPLOAD Photos/click
(spinner comes up under the UPLOAD message) *
UPLOADING
(moving bar GIF runs as photos upload) *
photos appear in album
(spinner runs below where COMMENTS/EDIT should be) *

Which * is the process hung up on?

Maybe the powers that be will notice a decline in users and do something about it...We can only hope,,,,,,,I know they made alot of $$$$ becausse SO many people upgraded to Golden or Platnuim memberships hoping to speed up things...but alais it didn't really help.....I don't go on the site at all anymore....Sucha shame,it was my NUMBER 1 spot before to lurk and prowl.....:(

I keep getting a Very annoying pop up which says that the certificate for this website is invalid and requests me to tap accept to go on the site any way. I have been hitting cancel, an average of twelve times each time it pops up. SUPER annoying.

Check the date on your computer (the year) sometimes that gets changed and the certificate dates won't work.

First off, we've repeated many times, and will say it again: If anybody feels they didn't / aren't getting value for their GFM or PPM purchase, we'll gladly refund the unused amount.

Second: Regarding speed of the site, activity on the site, etc. Here are some details:

  1. visits - Up from last year and higher than before the conversion
  2. unique visitors - Up from last year and higher than before the conversion
  3. pageviews - Lower than last year and lower than before the conversion (this is mostly because on the old system it would take 2-4 times more page loads to do what you can do here in one, for example, you can reply instantly at the bottom of the page (one pageview) vs. the old system reply, submit, reload, (three pageviews).
  4. posts per day - about the same as last year but down from before the conversion. Probably due to people's struggles getting use to the new system and performance problems (top priority)
  5. new member signups - Up from last year and higher than before the conversion

So, considering the size and scope of the changes to the site, the stats above are actually pretty encouraging. As we continue to improve performance and work out bugs to the system we expect things to continue to improve!
