Bugs & Problems With The New Platform

Sorry you're having those problems. Here are a few questions that will help us find, duplicate, and hopefully resolve the problem:

• What is the URL of the page that you got the error or had problems?
• Did you receive any error messages? if yes, what were they (please copy and paste the entire message, screenshots are best)?
• What were the exact steps you took before having the problem? Please be as specific as possible so we can do exactly what you did.
• How long has it been happening? If only one time, what day and time did it happen?
• Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
• Have you logged out, deleted your internet cache, logged back in, and tried again?
• Have you tried a different browser?
 
This new platform takes a lot longer to load on my computer.  I don't know if it's the adds on the side or just part of the new layout, but it makes navigating BYC very time consuming, especially if I only want to check something quickly.
That's the only problem I've come across since the new platform has been up, though.  Thanks for all your work on this forum!

SLOW IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT...IT POSITIVILY SUCKS!!!!! Thats why you notice there are fewer peeps on the site nowadays and it doesn't matter if you have the ads or not on the right OR if you use a faster server.......Heck it is now like watching TV where you have a gazillion commercials.....when I went into emergencies thread..my bird could have died by the time I was able to find some info on her problems...and to wait for an answer from another BYC peep, she could be cold under the ground by then... thanks for letting me vent and "tell it like it is"....BAD!

Well I have reached the end of my spirit with this matter, I do apologize if I came off as mean and rude..I was just venting..BTW it only took 17 seconds to get to this page..so thats an improvment there....I do know that EVERYONE is having lots of troubles with the new&imporoved so ...... I try very hard to not go on BYC so I don't get frustrated with it....SO with that said...........
 
We definitely recognize the frustrations with the new system and are doing all we can to escalate and prioritize these issues. The staff spend as much (in most cases more) time on the site than anybody, so we definitely have similar frustrations.

froggiesheins, being on the newest version of your browser (we suggest firefox or google chrome) should really help a lot. Also as a GFM you can turn off ads which should speed things up a bit.

I have done all of that already.......Will just wait untill you guys can figure out whats going on that is causing this sluggishness.....LOL
 
That's what's tricky... way more times than not, when people have updated browsers and ads off, the site is relatively zippy. Cases like you're mentioning are outliers and have been tricky for us to reproduce and solve... but we'll keep trying!

Go to your profile (click on your username in a post, or go to the top brown bar and click the "My Profile" tab) and scroll all the way down. You will have albums there and you can copy and paste, create new albums, etc.
