Bumblefoot help

Last night i did the povidone iodine + sugar wrap. Left on for 13hrs. Her scab is a bit bigger now but still doesnt seem ready to come off. So i sprayed her with the Vetericyn and let her go back to her eggs (19! She’s too small to sit on them all!). Tomorrow when i have a better helper i’mma do an epsom soak and see if we can get that scab off.

Okay! Thanks a lot!

She’s wrapped up with the sugardine again as the scab doesnt wanna come off still. She went full broody, pulled out a buncho down feathers, and has become less cooperative.

The Runner boy actually has a smaller bumble on both feet too. One scab was ready and i got that off, now he has a tiny hole in his foot. I mashed it about but it doesnt look like the hole goes anywhere and it doesnt seem like i took anything out. I dunno. The bumble grew on a white-ish part of his foot so i cant tell if i’m looking at skin or something else. If that makes sense?

Dealing With this myself. I have been cleaning with vetricyn then bandage with a generous amount of original neosporin and wrap with a plastic bag to stay dry. Come back the next day and the foot will be nice and soft.

I’m sorry about the quality, my camera wouldnt cooperate. This is the boy’s foot that i opened. It doesnt look to have changed these past couple days. I poked around in there but the hole didnt seem to go anywhere. I wrapped him back up with the antibiotic cream after spraying him with the Vetericyn.

I wasnt able to get a pic of the girl. She wouldnt quit kicking. BUT! The scab is protruding! I assume that’s a good sign? She’s been very badly wrapped to marinate in the antibiotic cream so hopefully it’ll be ready to come off in the next couple days.

What kinda plastic bag? Like a ziplock? I’m looking for something to put on the boy so he stops fiddling with it. He’s pulled the gauze pad out twice and tried to eat it!

Sugar helps reduce swelling really well... doesn’t do much for drawing out pus. Epsom salt soak would be preferable for helping draw out the contents of the wound. :) Epsom salt soak, 10 minutes or so twice a day, apply sugar +/- ointment to help it stay on, and bandage unless you’re keeping them somewhere that it doesn’t matter that they smear sugar and stuff everywhere. :p sugar can be discontinued once the swelling is reduced.

i would put iodine on it if it were me and open it up and try to get the big puss ball out if theres one and squeeze it it and get the left overs and that should be it.

best of luck :D :D :D
