You need the bootys, or vetwrap. They are made to prevent them from pecking the gauze off.

Your not crazy! I think the one with the scab is bumble foot. The other might just be a bruise,I would keep an eye on it. Vet wrap is the same as athletic tape. You should be able to get it at wal-mart,pharmacy or sporting goods. Some vets will let you buy it.The paper tape is in pharmacy also, should be around the bandaids. Its good that they are not limping you noticed early.BEfore i go crazy, is what i am seeing on my buffs feet bumble foot, both girs are not limping or look in any discomfort whatsoever,,,where do i get vet wrap and paper med tape...or i may just take her to the vet, on one buff as you see its just reddish spots on her feet, and the other hen has the scab
This is what I buy because the vet and farm supply cost more here. Its wide so I cut it into 3 strips to go between the toes and up the leg, then wrap around the leg with paper tape.
These are just examples to show what I use,you might find different brands.![]()
When you are ready, soak her feet real good in epsom salts and warm water(great bonding time)After 15 minute or so try to gently part the scab from the healthy skin if it does not come off you can soak some more or put antibiotic and wrap up the foot. Try again the next day. Pulling the scab off is nerve racking but once you do it you'll see its not to bad. Go at a pace you and your girl can handle.
that was a great siteThe scabs are bumblefoot, the red spots look like one that may have healed. Small lesions will sometimes resolve on their own, or just with topical application of antibiotic ointment (like neosporin) and wrapping. You can get co-wrap (same as vet wrap, it sticks to itself) at any tractor supply store, many feed stores in the horse section in 4" rolls, it comes in many colors, I usually just get black or white depending on what they have. I just cut them to 1" widths and the length I need. It sticks to itself and will stay on. You will probably need to wrap the foot and a couple of winds around the ankle/lower leg to make it stay on quite well. You can use telfa pads (non-stick wound pads) that are at any pharmacy, and cut them to the size you need. Just don't wrap too tight. This is the treatment I would do for the bumble:
