A couple days ago upon checking my duck's foot, I saw a very small slight bump on the underside of her toe, looking a little red. I checked again and it hasn't gone, or gotten any larger, but is still red which concerns me. I had a good feel and it doesn't feel hot, it's quite hard, feels very small. No limping or anything and she doesn't seem bothered by me touching her foot. Not too sure what's going on, first thought was the very start of bumblefoot, could definitely be a possibility since she is a larger breed, but based on how it looks I'm perhaps more suspicious that it's an injury. They aren't ever on hard ground, just dirt or bedding.

I was thinking I might give it a warm soak in some epsom salts this evening and I'll try and get a photo, but I'm just wondering if it could be anything else and if there's anything else I could be doing?

Since bumblefoot is caused by an injury such as a cut or scratch, it is possible that's what it could be. Are you 100% sure there was no point where she could have gotten access to something sharp? it could be a nail or rock or something hiding somewhere near your ducks. Soaking in Epsom salts is good, if it does turn out to be bumblefoot, you might want to wrap it with cotton balls and gauze. I'm not sure what else it could be, but maybe somebody else who knows a lot about ducks can answer this because I'm definitely not an expert.

I just read this over and noticed this, it might just be an injury like you said? I'm not sure if maybe she just got a little scratch that didn't cause bumblefoot, but I'm not 100% sure what that means. If I were you, I'd still soak it and wrap it up just to be safe. I hope everything works out with your duck!

Soak and get us a picture.
I did my very best to take a picture, but I had to hold her a certain way in order for her to be still- and that meant using selfie mode and it just would not focus-
Anyway here are the photos, the redness doesn't show up but you might be able the shape of the bumps, I saw a second but it's not so red and seems to be more just the shape of her toe? I will mention though that I got a good look at both their feet and they do have very soft pink skin on the undersides of their feet, so I thought perhaps the redness is simply irritation?
She was ever such a good girl, she wanted a reassuring hug after the photos, but was an angel for her foot soak! She just stood there and got all sleepy as I stroked her.

My ducks have had bumblefoot from standing on hard surfaces. I took them to the vet and she explained it to me. Apparently even dirt that gets compacted, or bedding that isn't super fluffy can be too hard.

It's really hard to tell from the photos. If she does have any podermatitis it is very mild.

I can appreciate how difficult it is to get good duck feet photos. I usually hold my duck and have my partner take the photos. Your duck sounds like an angel sweetheart. Mine are less cooperative.

I would've asked my mum to take the photos but she had her hands full today!
She is a sweetheart when she wants to be, she's a cheeky girl at times too 😂
