Lol someone will need to let me know what a troll is

Their words, not mine. I don't celebrate Saint Patrick's day, or any of the other holidays so I couldn't care less what you celebrate lol. Really most holidays are just an excuse to get drunk and eat food are they not? Christmas for example; how many people actually celebrate it as the birth of Christ?
Many people celebrate holidays for their true meaning.

Christmas, Halloween, Easter.

it's a little bit naive to lump all Americans into one pile and assume, from the media or the internet, that all Americans celebrate any holiday as a reason to over drink, or over eat. You've asked some questions, got folks answers, and yet you continue to try and chip away at our reasons for the celbration. You claim you don't care, yet, you still question all Americans reasoning.

You would be surprised. Yes there are the non secular that celebrate holidays like Christmas without Christ, but most of us are actually Christian, and Christ is central in our lives. This is true of almost everyone I know. Now I admit I am in a heavily Christian area, but I am far from alone. I think media has influenced your view of us.
Oh no, I wasn't just talking about America. I celebrated Christmas growing up, though no one in my family is religious. As did most of my friends. Easter too, just an excuse to eat chocolate eggs.

I'm not naive, you just misunderstood what I was saying.

Lsky, I think we pretty well understand where you tend to come from. No, I don't think you are naïve. I think you know exactly what you are doing. You have previously painted a self evident portrait of yourself through your postings.

What are you talking about? I thought we were having a friendly discussion, did I miss something?

But I think that is the key. You are not religious. I am, as are most people I know. Even those who do not go to church, still consider themselves religious. Almost all holidays are celebrated with the true meaning.

Well yes exactly, but I was just saying that a lot of people who are not religious still celebrate Easter, Christmas etc.. So that is why I don't get bitter about non Irish people celebrating things like Saint Patricks day.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.
