Hi I'm Lindsey, stay at home mom of a 4 year old and 1 year old twin girls. Just started this whole raising chickens thing. Got 5 unsexed chickens from a friend for free and bought 4 pullets from the store and ended up with 2 hens and 7 roosters! Talk about luck!so anyway that's my story for now. Just thought I would say hi.![]()
Its really an evil plot to make you learn chicken math! Ya see, once you get too many roosters, you have to replace them with hens. But the hens are so nice and pretty, you get a few extras! Then they start laying eggs, and you want more. Then they go broody, and make more... and more.... and more! Then you love them so much, you can't get rid of any.
And then.... if you catch the horrible bug called "incubating" (I have this serious disease, so I try to warn new folks of the major addiction, as a public service, of course). Then it turns from chicken math to chicken algebra!

Personally, I've graduated to chicken calculus.
