@3goodeggs , I used to send my kiddo care packages using the flat rate boxes you can get free at the PO. Doesn't matter how much the box weighs...if it fits, it ships!

NFC and I are on the wave length here. Of course I am 5 years into my husbands turn and other than the grill, he hasn't taken up the baton.
He makes great bacon though.

Sorry I'm late, BUT Welcome to our little corner of happiness.

My little 24hp horse/chicken poop mover blew out a rear axle seal and at over $12.00 a gal. I don't want to waste much.
I don't like working on tractors in July and Aug. My shop is full of other stuff, so it's outside for this one.

Haha Americans, enjoy your flat rate shipping!!! I just got no care packages when I was in college - Canada post was too ridiculous for that! Bright side my parents (dad was still active Air Force) were posted about 6 hours drive from me so on the long weekends I'd load up a rental car with laundry and head on up ;) (we just had one single coin op washer and drier for my whole building. Needless to say I ended up doing bathtub laundry often...lol)

DH cooks bacon on the grill...the man is a genius. Cooks up nice & crispy and NO mess inside for me to clean up. Actually, he does about 95% of all the cooking and I do all the baking. And I'm the master dishwasher. Works well for us!

Hi @whoop whoop , chestnuts aren't so plentiful around here except around Christmas time, but this is a chocolate chestnut cake in my "like to try someday" file. (Might want to double check the measurements in parentheses, I did the conversions myself...math is not my strong suit.)

250g good quality dark chocolate (8.8 oz.)
250g butter (8.8 oz.)
250g peeled and cooked chestnuts, vacuum packed is fine
250ml milk (1 cup)
4 eggs, separated
125g caster sugar (2/3 cup)
Method
Grease and line a 25cm (9") round cake tin.
Melt the chocolate and butter in a pan over a gentle heat. In another pan heat the chestnuts and milk together until it just comes to the boil. Remove from the heat and mash the chestnuts into the milk until smooth.
Whisk the egg yolks and caster sugar together until combined. Pour in the chocolate mixture and the chestnut mixture and whisk together well.
In a very clean bowl whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks and then carefully fold into the chocolate and chestnut mixture. Pour the mixture into the tin and place in a preheated oven at 170°c (325F), for 25-30 minutes, until it is set, but it will still have a little wobble in the center. Leave in the tin to cool a little if you are serving warm or leave to cool completely. Sift cocoa powder over the top.
