We are getting ready to go out into it...blaaa.
We are trying to gather up all the items our son will need for college- because they don't have stores THERE.

Yes Aus, Oz, Aussie, Straya is home. We are in the midst of Winter here so that means...lovely sunny crisp days! We don't like to conform to conventional season climates.

I hope it works out well for you. Chestnuts are pricey around here so I'd like to know if you think it's a good recipe before I try it (in other words, you get to be the test subject, lol).

DH is a master on the grill here

and that unfortunately is showing up on my thighs.

I am a big fan of outdoor bacon, the ladies not so much if I make it in the house the grease gets turned into some yummie block of what not for them. outdoors it goes in the grease bucket to help with DH's brush fires.

On another or same note DH is also afraid of the kitchen sink. Yep that makes me the Mistress of the dishes as well here too

@3goodeggs , I used to send my kiddo care packages using the flat rate boxes you can get free at the PO. Doesn't matter how much the box weighs...if it fits, it ships!

My son has already pointed out that he will eat squashed brownies.

Just a couple thoughts on the care packages:
1. Squashed brownies and broken cookies are ok. Soup cans that explode in transit are not.

Cool, rainy and foggy up here again so I am baking bread. That cake recipe sounds tasty! I think it is going to be a relaxing day, despite the hot coffee intake.

DH cooks bacon on the grill...the man is a genius. Cooks up nice & crispy and NO mess inside for me to clean up. Actually, he does about 95% of all the cooking and I do all the baking. And I'm the master dishwasher. Works well for us!

Woah!!!! How would that not flare up like mad with the fat drippings?!?!

Feeling motivated today- I think I'll build a tractor coop. It won't be big enough to hold all my chickens, but I figure I'll rotate 5 chickens each day and that should work.
