Afternoon all! I've had a busy morning tending to my bator of duck eggs. Today is day 25, lockdown. I started with 14, 4 were infertile and lost 3 more along the way, so I have 7. Also one turkey egg. Started with 4, one was infertile, lost the other 2. But I'm looking forward to a decent hatch in a few days.

Order me up a piece of that chocolate cake please. I'm a little nutty right now!

Hi Carikermoon! Nice to meet you. So I came in from outside, overheating, I think it is 58 outside today. The chickens have all retired to the shade as well. I was out planting one of my raised beds with salad, radishes, turnips and some heritage Italian wheat. It is supposed to rain and snow, but not freeze for the next few days or so I will give it some time before putting the plastic on. The beds themselves are surrounded by snow drifts and that makes it easier to crawl over the rodent fence in my heavy snow boots. Yeah, I know

Took me a while to catch up on the thread..hope everyone is doing well. The weather has been gorgeous here today...sunny and around 77. Doesn't get much better. Really puts me in the mood to do some yard work and gardening. Catch you all later and hope to pop in more often.

I had the same idea. I ran out and picked up strawberry plants, lavender and two types of basil to round out the raised herb garden. It was just too pretty outside not to. Then put in some work time and now I'm at baseball practice with youngest to be followed shortly by Cub Scouts for him and Boy Scouts for the oldest. No rest for the wicked.

Yes, our Tuesdays are like that..gymnastics, Scouts (he's almost Eagle) and trap shooting starts in a week or so. I think because Wednesday is sort of an unofficial 'church' night most activities aren't scheduled that night. So my Tuesdays are always crazy. We usually have pizza - frozen with a homemade GF for the daughter and I.

I'm jealous you get to plant! It was really warm here in the 60s and 70s but it was a freak occurance and now back to the 40s. Oh well, it gave me a full weekend to clean up the yard!

Happy Tuesday all! We had a warm spell too, finally got out in the yard and picked up a bunch of fallen branches. But today has cooled back down a bit. I think I'll just clean house today, and stay close to the bator.

@Terrysgirl, you mention gymnastics. I did it when I was little and absolutely loved it. I will tell you a quick story. You probably know who Mary Lou Retton is... Well she is a few years younger than me, but we were at a meet together. She was younger, but already more advanced than me! She was probably 6-7 years old or so, and she performed a floor exercise routine to "Rubber Ducky". It was so darn adorable, everyone knew she would be a star!

Hi all,

We are finally starting to cool down out here, lol. The past few day have been around the 83F mark, much better than the 105F days we were having a run of! Even the chickens look relieved, none of them are broody (first time in months!) but five are going through a hard moult. It's their first and most of them have lost their tails - they look so funny! Even the rooster lost all his sickles, and looks like a fat little man with no tail!

Work yesterday went well, and today I am up early again for an appointment with my clinic. Time to see if all the drugs they have had me on have encouraged my body to start making follicles for retrieval. I am very nervous and a bit scared, but hubby assures me if it hasn't worked we will just start over again with the injections and pills etc. I must say though, if feeling terrible is anything to go by I must have a whole basket of follicles ready to go in there!
