Too late.
I am upset.
You are like my husband.
You all have the metabolisms of insectivores.
It is not FAIR!!!

I work and work out, and I don't get cheese cake, or cake.. or cheese.

Don't worry, I'm right there with you! I weigh in at around 180lbs (80kgs) and I'm only 5'6". As I said - Chunky Monkey!

I don't care. I'm eating the **** cake anyway!

I don't want my one regret, as I lay on my death bed, to be "I wish I had not said 'no' to that piece of cake."

I want to savour everything life has to offer!

And if I have to go a few kgs overweight, then so be it.

As long as I am healthy (and according to my doctors I am as healthy as a horse) then I'm happy. Even if I don't fit the 'ideal' mould.

I just ate 2 slices of thick toast with butter, 3 (yes, THREE) of my girl's eggs and a cup of strong black coffee for breakfast and I'm STILL HUNGRY.

What is wrong with me, lol?

As a side note, I just bought a book online called "Embrace - From body loather to body lover."  It encourages us to accept our bodies for what they are - whether that be weight related, age related etc.  Considering the size of my breakfast, and the fact that I just KNOW I'm going to be hunting through my pantry for more food shortly, I may well have bought this book just in time  :)

Am I the only one with such a hearty appetite?  I do work hard, on the farm as well as in my accounting capacity.  I have long days, getting up at 5am and not going to bed until 9pm.   I'm just not one of those girls who can live off a lettuce leaf alone.  I am a solid build - built to work, but not built for speed!

I ate a piece of homemade bread, a bagel, a cup of coffee, and a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday for brunch. :drool Man, now thinking about all this food makes me hungry. LOL

Oh gosh, I hear ya. I'm only 5'2" on a good day and I have the appetite of a 6' man! It's horrible because being so short puts me at a disadvantage..if I really did eat as much as I feel like I could I'd be as wide as I am tall. :) Exercising helps but yeah, I get some days where I feel like I'm always hungry. When I have sugar or simple carbs, it seems to set things in motion though where I always feel hungry. On those days I just up my fat intake - like more heavy cream in my coffee, a sausage or two and an extra spoon of coconut oil in my coffee and it seems to help. My weight has been stable since about 2004, probably mostly because I also exercise on a daily basis. I aim for a min of 5 days a week but am also realistic and realize that some days I just can't find the time to do it or the weather isn't cooperating. On those days I seem to instinctively eat less.

Anyway. I always see this group of women at my gym (I secretly call them the Stepford wives). They all look like models - perfect bodies, perfect hair and makeup - but they don't look happy. They never smile and always look really angry or at the very least, bored with life. It's made me realize that happiness has to come from the inside and that spending your life worrying about your shell is rather unproductive. I mean, it's important to care what you look like but come on..I had two kids. My body doesn't look like it did when I was 15 but I don't want it to. It's done amazing things. Besides, my SO doesn't seem to have any complaints.

Have a good Monday everyone! It's hard to believe we are already half through March now. Does anyone have any St. Pat events they're planning on? We don't drink, either of us so this is one of those 'whatever' events for us..just another day..

Yes, what is up with that! My SO wanted to drop a little weight. He's been working 70+ work weeks and exercise has taken a back seat. He announced to me last week that he was going to stop eating bread - he usually has 3 sandwiches for lunch, so he decided to cut out the bread and focus more on protein.

He dropped 5 lbs. Meanwhile, I can smell doughnuts at the grocery store and gain weight. Well, not really but you catch my drift. LOL.

I try to cook corn beef and cabbage and soda bread,
When my son was little we tried to celebrate everyone's holidays with a special meal and a history lesson.

Do you guys know what I would have done back in the day so I would gain a bit of weight (as*) so I could rough-house and hold my own with kids my age? Skinny is not all it's cracked up to be, when your young, now that I'm older it's not so bad.

Congratulations on the quail egg.
I thought they were delicious. and cute.
Cute food has it's place.

One morning I fried my son a dozen quail eggs for breakfast just so he could tell his Friends that he ate a dozen eggs for breakfast.

About food.
Exercise and diet for me is more about arriving into old age.

Chocolate is allowed.
Chocolate has its place.

It is vital for my husband's safety and well being.
