I use a lot of butter. If not butter, it's olive oil.

I wasn't aware of this.My stovetop cast iron pans are pretty good at not sticking. I do as mentioned in the link, wipe/scrap, wash with soap (not detergent) dry by heat and oil.@Shadrach read this one too if you get a chance. Apparently soap isn't as big of an enemy to cast as it was in "olden" daysI wasn't aware of this.
