BYC Café

Good morning! Thanks for the coffee because it is cold here, single digits.
DL, I am happy for you Both! It sounds like a good fit.
Some of you are talking about gardening and sunburns..., maybe in May for me? Maybe...
DD, I hope your new mattress is treating you well!
I love the new bearded guy, he is so cute! He seems happy too.
Have a great day and enjoy it! Hugs!

Ben went into the woods to do his business all the time. I never had to clean up after him. Skittles sometimes does. Fuji never does because she isn't allowed outside unless she is leashed.

Bella will need to travel a short distance on a wooded path down on the parcel of land where I run the dogs. She won't want to run off leash there at first so it will be a good opportunity to train her on the remote collar and long line.

I had to drag her up the road a bit before she unlocked and came with me. She's not comfortable with a country setting. She did not get out much so I will ease her into social settings as well.

I'm sure you'll do a great job with her. I look forward to hearing about your experiences.

I have dog challenges of my own, pulling on the leash, so individual training walks are taking place every afternoon before we go back to one person walking both. I think Frank is mad we have house guests for a while, including the dog.

Good morning everyone. I just washed the pup, long overdue. She didn't know what to make of it. But she was pretty dirty, so in the tub she went.
We have lots of rain forecast today. Stuff is dry, so that's a good thing. Lots of smoke in the air last night when we went to Danville .
Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Morning Cafe if you recall we took Fear as a rescue at 8 she had been bred almost to death.. I showed her Grandfather Knew the breeder was better than they gave her living in town never off a leash or in a crate our property although only 3/4 of an acre brought her home first time I took that leash off started to walk off she should there looking at me like "really?" then trotted off would go out make sure the chickens were al there each morning for the next 6 years

I like to move slowly but she'll be in much better condition in about 6 weeks. I'm going to get her on a scale today so I can track where she started vs. where she'll end up. I like to see a Doberman's ribs when they run.
She's also on Purina One. I've never been a fan of grocery store dog food. I've been feeding raw for about 2 years but I'm going to switch the pack over to Orijen when the freezer starts getting low. Orijen is the next best thing to raw IMO.
I just feel the need to simplify my life a bit to make time for Bella and my Dad. It's time to get his house finished and sold. 2 years is too long. Bella will be going with me when I work on the house so we can continue bonding and she can keep me company and keep me from breaking down crying. Although I did really good my first day up there alone.
I'm glad you'll have some company.:)

You wrote earlier that Bella had three litters with cesarean section. Is this common with dogs?

Not for Dobermans.
According to her vet records 4 puppies died during her first delivery in July of 2017. Five survived when she was brought in for the c-section.
She had 6 puppies May of this year and 7 more at the end of September.
She was spayed the day before Thanksgiving.
