Ah okay that makes sense. Well I’ve just stuck with it haha

Our vet only does 1 year rabies shots for all animals, but at the rabies clinic at the fire station they gave all our dogs except Jolene 3 year shots. Jolene was young and it was her first rabies shot. I figured I'd let her join the fun with all the other dogs. When I brought her in for her annual check up the day I got her she was too young to get it.

Rascal, the now 12(?) Y/O cat that had the radioactive iodine treatment for her thyroid tumor got a 3 year the last time. She is SO hard to catch to get to the vet and I figured it would be one less thing to worry about.

That makes sense! And it seems your cats have done well with the 3 year? Maybe it depends

I don't even think she noticed that they gave her a shot. They were really good. Basically hopped in the car and did all the bigger ones. We had to make two trips though because we don't have enough room in the car for all 4

My cats are strictly indoor cats unless I get them a harness so they can explore with my supervision. The only way they'd get the disease is they get bitten by, or eat an infected animal anyways.

I have some harnesses but Luna hates them and has slipped out of even the supposedly super secure ones. I was thinking of getting her used to it though and taking her on walks haha

My brat cat Mystery might like a harness. She tries to sneak outside sometimes.
She only gets as far as the entry way, when she does she's blocked by the storm door.

I need to try to find a more secure harness. Problem is she’s very fluffy and her head is small so she can slip out haha

Luna used to love to go out and would be out forever now sometimes she wants to come back in moments after being out! And she mostly just lays in the sun on the deck or front garden when she does go out haha
