There is a Pay if Forward practice for people who leave shopping carts out of the locks at Aldi for the next person who may need a cart but doesn't have a quarter.
Whenever I use one of these carts I ALWAYS leave it out for the next person.
Today, after I pushed the cart up near the others but left it unlocked I watched as a girl shoved her cart in, locked it and retrieved her quarter. Then shoved the cart I had put there and took the quarter!
Well... me being me and all, I had turned full around and was staring right at her as she turned around and I told her that I had left that cart there for the next person who didn't have a quarter to use and it wasn't for her to take the quarter. She wouldn't even look me in the eye and scampered off to her SUV. I guess she was so pressed for money this week that she needed that quarter to make ends meet.
It's people like this that make me prefer my dogs.
I leave my cart at Aldi, too! that would bother me as well. Aldi question:: mine does not have gluten free mac and cheese anymore near pasta section, and granddaughter misses her pumpkin cider--is this true at yours?

Have no shopping place here you pay to use a cart but we do have membership at Costco funny we spend so much there they made us executive
member it was like 16 dollars last year 2020..
We are prime members on Amazon
these carts are linked to each other---it keeps the parking lot clear of abandoned csarts in the way---I wish all stores had them---you get your quarter back when you hook cart back up

I do not know about Aldi, but our local Walmart neighborhood store moved all of their gluten free products to a gluten free section. Maybe Aldi's did too?

Had another scare today.
I knew I was going to be late getting home so I had UN get DH at 1:30 and bring him to my mom's.
I got a text from the neighbor at 3:12 asking if I knew why my front door was wide open.

I frantically called him and told him DH must have let UN in the front door and didn't lock it. I asked him to get the dogs back in. He said he didn't see them. That ramped up the panic alarm.

I called my mom and asked her to go up the hill and help find the dogs and Mogwai.
I called the neighbor back and he'd managed to find the dogs and coax them back into the house with PB. But said he couldn't find Mogwai. I told him a few of her hiding places and he found her behind the coffee maker on her stack of egg cartons. Phew!

Bella and her door opening was funny at first but it's a terrible combination with someone with AD. I'm going to tape the dead bolt thumb latch with a big X to try to remind DH to leave it alone. But UN will need to know to make sure all the doors with lever style handles that lead to the outside are locked so Bella can't open them when he leaves with DH in the future.

Once I knew everyone was safe, I had a melt down at work. Thank goodness for compassionate work friends with out of the way offices... And for hair color so I can dye all my new gray hairs.
that must have been very stressful; so glad it all ended happily, and your pulse rate got back to normal in the company of friends :hugs

Coffee is brewing! Lots.
I am up with a runny nose and stuffy nose, but I can still smell the smoke so probably not the Covid. ;)
I have not checked on the fires yet. They were moving yesterday and everyone is gettin edgey. The wind is still rocking and rolling too.
DL, I am glad the scare worked out fine. Hugs! I think changing out the door handles to the outside world just might be the thing to do. You can put them on another house or put them aside for a few years. It may just save some stress in the long run.
CS, what is your chick count and some pics, please!
I have yet to see a grocery cart pay system!
Today, I guess it will be hibernate from the smoke day and watch DS$ wrestle on the live streaming from the tournament. It is hard sometimes with DH hollering at the monitor in my small kitchen desk area. He is loud in an arena!

Good Morning one and all! Thanks for the coffee, Margie! Well, I'm up by one chick this morning, first one is in the brooder.. two more are pipping and one is just sitting there. Took the second chick FOREEEEEEEEEEVER to get out of that shell... Charlie and Henrietta's chicks are just pokey slow. Was up until midnight checking on the incubator every hour. Peck...........................peck............................peck....

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee Margie ☕
Sorry to hear about your cold, glad to hear it's probably not covid!
Also sorry to hear about the smoke and fires there; I hope the winds blow them away from you :fl
How many more are you expecting to hatch @CSolis ?

Set off early to do the weekly shop this morning and went a route I don't normally go... the scene of mist on the still high water of the salt marsh of the Loughor estuary along the north Gower coast was absolutely stunning; wish I'd stopped to take a photo  ; it was like this with mist, blue skies and sparkling low sunshine

Wales is likely to go into a more serious lockdown on Monday, so I thought it'd be wise to get out early and beat the rush. And indeed people were having to queue to get in by the time I was leaving.

There are 3 more eggs in the incubator.. two have pipped, one just sits.. I have a small 12 egg incubator but only do 5 - 6 at a time.. I'm checking to see what kinds of off spring a few of my pairs have.. Bruiser and Maggie are the winners for robust chicks that hatch early.. Henri and Sweet Pea do have some sweet looking babies.
This is the last hatch for a good long while as my runs are getting used up now.
