Did you see the second picture of a similar egg? It had to be the same chicken. Only the end of that one was really blue. Maybe I'll get a super blue layer out of itI have never seen an egg that vivid blue colour before.

That's exactly what I said to my husband. He came out of the coop and said "you're never going to believe this! It looked like it was glowing!"That was my first thought too. This is like a robin's egg.
Maybe I'll get a super blue layer out of itBut more likely, it'll be a cockerel haha. If it hatches, anyway.
Does she continue to lay that color? That's exactly what I said to my husband. He came out of the coop and said "you're never going to believe this! It looked like it was glowing!"
That would be amazing!Does she continue to lay that color?
About 100 miles south and a bit east of NEK. Sept 11-18. We plan to take several day trips to enjoy the scenery.Where and how "mid"?
Yes! We did a lunch cruise on Seneca Lake. I don't think they're running because of Covid. Something always sparks a memory for him. He just can't quite get it right on the when and where. Just that "this feels familiar".Didn't you guys used to do the Fall day cruises & have lunch at a special place? Are those places still open during covid? I wonder if he would remember either of them?
No. I have had two, maybe three (total), like it. None were quite this blue all the way through. But you can see there is a lighter band in the middle, like an ombre shading.Does she continue to lay that color?
Yeah, that could be! I haven't gotten a blue one in a similar shape, so she may have just started up laying again. That would be amazing!
I’m betting it’s more like a Cayuga egg. One good black one a year, then a lighter, dark grey the rest of the year.
Clearly she didn't approve of how you made the beds! I bet she wanted hospital corners.and Hurry I think slipped in and threw most of the bedding in the nest boxes out.
What breed is the rooster?Maybe I'll get a super blue layer out of it![]()
Oh, an alien put it there! Better be careful when it hatches, no idea what will come out of it.That's exactly what I said to my husband. He came out of the coop and said "you're never going to believe this! It looked like it was glowing!"
It would be hard to be east of the NEK (unless you are in NH) since the entire northeast corner of the state IS the NEKAbout 100 miles south and a bit east of NEK. Sept 11-18. We plan to take several day trips to enjoy the scenery.
