You can tell I am a southern girl.
I was thinking Duluth Georgia. The big bodies of water confused me. Then I read lake superior and... I had to google.

:gig Its alright. :hugs

That is funny!
I haven't been to Duluth in ages! But I always loved going over the bridges. It's a beautiful city. I've spent some time in Hibbing and International Falls, as well as some other small towns in Minnesota. Nice people, beautiful scenery.

This was my world yesterday. We walked into the garage, because our road is so muddy. The river was over its banks, and moving much faster than usual. I finally got to see the space that DH has planned for the chicken coop. And, as a bonus, none of the dogs rolled in anything dead!

I've been to Hibbing and International Falls numerous times each. Your dogs looked like they enjoyed all the water!

Hey everyone  :frow

How's things?

I have been flat out, after I found red mites in my chicken coop.  Gah!  Not what I wanted to find in there, that's for sure.

I don't think it was a severe infestation - a wipe-down of the roost at night revealed some mites but not millions, but no mite is a good mite, is it?  Hubby and I sprayed down the roost, walls and nest boxes with poison ("Maldison," it was called, it is suitable for red mite), and put fresh hay in the nests, and the birds seem fine.  No-one is scratching, everyone is roosting, so they must be ok I guess.  We are going to re-spray again in 2 weeks time.

Other than that little drama, things are as per usual - work, farm, work, farm.  It's all good in the 'hood.

Hopefully you got rid of them for good Krista! :fl

Mornin' y'alls! The sun is barely making a break over the mountains. Back to the grind of earning a dolla and of course the baby is sneezing all over me. But got my coffee in hand and ready to tackle today's work to-do list while hunting for a money tree. Especially since my hoping for the checking account to increase over night didn't happen

Oh cookies sound delish! But then again everything sounds super delish when cutting macro's.

It has decided to start snowing. They are still saying 1 foot or 2 feet or 3 feet. Why don't they just say,"You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" Seems that would cover all of the bases.
At least the snow will insulate the garden beds from the cold air (single digits) expected after the storm moves out. The plains will have a harder time dealing with the freeze.
Anyway, enough boo hooing.
I bought coffee and it was on sale! I think I will be drinking some when I make cookies ( I like that idea) and ham-lentil soup. Yesterday, I shoveled two cubic yards of amended topsoil into the GH/CF area and it was fun. No really..., great fun shoveling, can't even tell you how much fun I had! Great pre-workout for the heavy wet stuff currently exiting the sky.

I can't believe its still snowing out there! We are finally reaching 70's.... much more to my liking that the cold white stuff. But that is one of the nice things about where I live. We get all the seasons. I love the hot summer, but by the time its over, I'm usually ready for it to be over. And I'm always ready for the winter to be over before its over! Spring and Fall are lovely!

Good day everyone!

Oh, I thought I'd share another couple pics of my turkey. Growing nicely, but not quite so much since I dropped down to the chick grower, lower protein stuff. I didn't want monster hens, and I can't make them eat from different containers, so....

And here are my almost-4-week-old duckies, making waves.

I love the pics of your turkey and ducks! Neither of which I have but both of which I want someday. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks and you're welcome! My son wanted me to text him new pics, since they grow so fast! Seems their looks change daily! I've never had either before now, so its an adventure!

My oldest spends 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends with his dad. So I've been taking weekly chick pics and texting them to him so that he can see them grow. I've been amazed at the changes in the past few weeks. Four are EE and they have distinctive looks... it's really fun to watch them grow up!

Edited for typos...it's really a pain to type on the phone. :(
