How many days are left until your DH will be back? And how does he like his vacation?
He comes home tomorrow afternoon.
I can tell he's happy when he calls.
And he's calling. He doesn't normally do that. I think he feels better hearing my voice because he can't really talk on the phone. I'm the most consistent thing in his life but he still wants to see his family.
I've really enjoyed the last two weeks though.

How the two weeks flew by!

Spending quality time with his family and you having some quality time for yourself, is the best you can get!
Stress levels will have come down by now I suppose, so you will be able to better enjoy your time together.

Finally drying out here....and cooler.
Time to tackle all the growth this rain and heat created.
Mowers, whacker, and loppers will be out in force the next few days,
well as much force as I can muster-which may not be much.
I almost wish I lived in a condo :gig SO tired of trying to keep up on the yardwork.
can't imagine paying lots of money to own something, but a group of people could tell me what color my mailbox has to be, or how big my grill can be!

There is one way to reduce the yardwork significantly...

but humidity is 80%.
80%?? That's DRY compared to here! It starts at 90-96% at day break, then goes down to about 84% as the air warms up.

Not have a yard. Just woods and meadow/tall grass/weeds. A little string trimming for a path to the car, and you're all set.

Just define a smaller perimeter and leave the rest for mother nature to reconquer, covering it all up with natural plant growth
Yeah, already have that, maybe half acre out of 15.
Already gave up tending trails thruout the acreage.
The woods are already too close.

(think English landscape garden). :D
:gig That would be sassafrass, autumn olive and a bunch of other junk trees and shrubs.
I already only mow the fields surrounding the yards just enough to keep the saplings from taking over(couple times a year).
