Not exactly a day trip for you!!!

It claims to have been the top undergraduate university in all of Canada 21 times in the last 29 years (don't know WHICH years ;) ).

You can go to Mount A, Sackville is basically the last city (heading east) from the New Brunswick/Nova Scotia border, 9 km :D They have a nice waterfowl park there with a boardwalk through it.

No, definitely not a day trip (especially these days!).

I think a lot of Canadian Universities claim that based on a variety of different reports ;) But usually all have the areas they excel at!

And yes, it is super close! I've been through New Brunswick to get to Prince Edward Island a few times, but there's so much to do here in Nova Scotia that I often find myself staying within the province. The marshlands at the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border are pretty incredible for waterfowl - I spent a bit of time at Beaubassin Research Station right across the border helping with fish studies, but that's about as close as I've ever been to staying in New Brunswick :)

I guess the PEI bridge is cheaper than the ferry? PEI is kinda the "Hotel California" of Canada. You can check out any time you like but you can't leave ... at least not until they clean out your wallet. I was really surprised to find out that PEI residents have to pay to leave, not even a discount!!!! Sure does get costly if they need medical treatment beyond what they can get on the island.

Any way onto the island is free so I often take the ferry there, but getting off it's "cheaper" to leave via the bridge 🤣 And yes, insane that there is no discount for locals! Not like they have many options for how to leave the island... many people from PEI haven't ever been off island.

I can see why! Shy of swimming it is expensive! Yet the bridge to Montreal which sees WAY more traffic daily is free.

Confederation bridge daily traffic 4,000, Samuel De Champlain bridge 159,000. Listed as the busiest bridge in Canada. Probably figure they can't afford to have all those cars stuck on the bridge at the toll booth ;)

A few minutes walk. It's on the West edge of Bristol City. Go a bit further West and you get to Avonmouth which is the old port that used to serve the South West and the sea.
There is just over an acre of land here. Very few people come here. There are about a dozen allotment plots.

Can't resist posting this.
This is Lima asleep on my lap. She is one of this years Ex Batts and she's a mess. She's moulting and trying to repair the damage she suffered in the battery cages. I didn't think she would make it this far.

My last molting hen looks the worst of the three. Quills sticking out of her neck and back.
PorcuChicken!
I don't have any pincushions this year.

Sun made a showing, temps mild enough to do some chores without gloves and coat.
Slowly working on the edging needed along garage apron and patio for ice melt drainage.
Made a sifter with 1/2" HC to gather sandy dirt from edgings for winter dust bath area.
