BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

For the third time I forgot to close the run door. I am taking DH down to Pine Grove to meet his daughter. He is off for a 6-7 day vacation and my mind was on other things. Thank goodness for the electric fence.
Tink took the kids out the front door this morning for the first time. They are behind the coop/run. It's where all the moms take the kids for their first outing. It's got good cover back there. They'll eventually make their way to the huge quince and she'll wander around in there with them.

So, another thing that has been weighing on my mind (heavily) is the roof. The room is being built this weekend and in order to be ready for the rain forecast to be coming on Tuesday, the roof needs to be back on by Monday. I was supposed to pick DH up in Dillsburg that day. It's a 6.5 hour drive round trip. That kills any chance of roofing that day so I asked Junior early yesterday if he could keep his father one more day and we could meet Tuesday.
He finally decided to answer me just now and said he can't because he has lots of meetings Tuesday. I told him that the roof is more important than a visit and that if one of his siblings can't get him, the visit will be canceled. Haven't heard back yet.
They never ever take into consideration my needs in every interaction I've had with them and I'm tired of bending over backwards for them.

I went out to dinner with my nephew and his family last night for his 21st birthday celebration. His birthday actually isn't until today. After stopping home to lock up the birds and grab the dogs, I went over to their house for ice cream cake. Yes, Miss Paleo ate some!!

This nephew is the one who tends the flock when I'm away and was properly inducted into chicken keeping by Fabio this May when he finally flogged him. Tink is his favorite and he was tickled to learn she was a mother. He shushed his sister's boyfriend at dinner last night when I was sharing a little video of Tink scratching around with her chicks!

More than enough. It only needs to be 2' deep for goldfish to survive.

Liner is much easier and more reliable. It should last decades. It isn't a preform. It's sheet EPDM, 45 mil thick. The bottom will be as wrinkle free as I can get it. The sides will have folds in them.
Wonderfull stuff is that EPDM sheet. Used it to seal my house and on the chicken coop roofs. It's surprisingly resistant to punctures.
