Awesome! I never really considered Boers much but then had them suggested a time or two so may look into them again. I was considering Nigerian Dwarfs or dairy goat wethers. I think if I ever got them it would be dairy goat or boer wethers. I mostly want pets and brush clearing. Really anything would fit that bill lol

And yes, most people never give them a chance. Or fall for cute kids then theu grow up "creepy"

The Boers are really awesome, but the dairy breeds are great too. We are going to train our goats to pack and pull a cart. It should be fun!
I also know a lot of you said that you didn't get why people call goats creepy and such....I don't get that either. They are so sweet and very intelligent!
Mtn Margie, your bear story is great. I'm glad everyone was okay though. I love the pink hat part!

Good morning everyone. Dogs were up early...now they have all gone back to bed, and I need coffee. Baking day today, although the weather is not the best, so I'll have to stay away from the cookie recipes.

We must have gotten several inches of rain yesterday, the wind was blowing it sideways. The river is over it's banks and running pretty fast this morning.

I remember Margie's bear story! It was the major topic of conversation for at least a week, maybe more?

Morning! Yes, that bear incident was funny, the rest, not so much. I told my neighbor about the tracks leading to his house and he was wondering why his dogs were going bonkers and glad to know. He is reloaded with the rubber buckshot. I think we are ready this year. On a lighter note, there was another Momma Moosen and yearling munchin on the current bushes and with all of the rain and snow melting, they should be quite happy wading around.
Pretty wild weather last night. Thunderstorms and graupel. A coffee day for sure!

Good morning everyone
Yes I am glad everything ended up ok with the bear, it is hilarious but terrifying. I think I eiuld start keeping that gun above your bed :D
You guys keep saying "people call giats creepy and stupid" I have never heard that before. The only complaints I have ever heard about goats, and it srrms a valid one, they are too smart and near impossible to keep contained. Everyone I have ever known who keeps goats have had at least one on top of their car (One of them was married to a State P, had the goat on the squad car :lau) I have heard of one person having a goat on top of their house :/
