Piper is not impressed with her new panties. She tore them off in less than 5 minutes when I went out to check on the flock.
I on the other hand love them and put them right back on her. She's bleeding all over the place!

How long does it last?
Will you have her spayed before the nest one, not sure how long that would be.


One of two broodies back to roost, second one is stubborn.
Thinks she's 'brooding' the 2x4 so I removed it, will see after the nest 48 hours.

I don't think that would work. Especially with her fighting it.

Absolutely!! The next one shouldn't start for 6 months. She is already on the wait list to be spayed at the local humane society. I signed her up in early April. They call when they have worked down to you on their list. The timing should be just right. I want her done and healed before we fly to Denver in late Sept.

Get her 3 or 4 fertile eggs and let her have at it. If you don't want the pullets from the hatch, sell them. Give away or eat the boys.

Back in Halifax, but I picked some of my tulips at 3am this morning to bring down with me.

We are still waiting for Salt to go into heat. Could be any time between now and the middle of July (7-9 months in terms of first heat for her females the breeder said). Already have the diapers handy and have done a little training. Salt doesn't really like them, but it will be what it will be to get through this.
