BYC Café

AQ number lower today, smoke map shows it's drifting off to the west and a bit thinner here today, not as stinky.

These fires have been going on for a couple months but smoke was rising high before drifting, guess the latest weather (that much needed rain) held the smoke closer to the ground.

As much as I hate the smoke, really feel for those who are closer and may have lost their homes.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It is cloudy a bit and smells like rain. Maybe we will get some to knock the pollen down.
We sold the sheep, so there is downsizing going on here as well. The chickens? Well, we were only supposed to get a few... The final numbers will have to be worked out in the fall. My DH is already stressing over the winter chores, but he will feel bad if I take them back over and it is good for him to have something that makes him think and move so I need to just find that sweet spot and that spot may move by the time late fall gets here. So we will work on freezer space for the moment and call it good! LOL!

That is indeed a lot of animals to care for unless you are running a working farm.

I also downsized during the last few years from 185 to actually just 36 adults + this year's 25 chicks raised by their mother hens.
Plus our two Aidale Terriers.
That is more than enough to deal with.

No more horses, goats or sheep.
There is a time for everything...
Well, i need some reason to get out of bed. As it is, i sleep a lot!

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee LF.

I'm taking the day off to deal with DH issues. Like the nursing home having lost nearly all his clothes, working with the social worker to ensure the door is wide open and ready for him to be transferred to Vestal Park when a bed is available, visiting VP and getting the forms I'll need to increase the amount of money I take from his retirement account from which I've been paying his bills. I'll drain it by early next year then start in on the next one.
