Tell you hubby to bug off. It's good to be taking things easy especially in the first few months. Let him be pregnant. Men could never put up with things women can. Just keep positive thoughts and pamper yourself.

To be fair, he has been good in other ways. He won't let me carry the washing basket, and he's done all the chook work for me. I think sometimes he just 'forgets' what we've just been through. It is more 'real' to me, as I'm the one physically going through it all. I have explained to him that we are well out of pocket with the expenses of this endeavour, and the better chance we give it now the better off we'll be down the track.
The main thing is that the embryo takes hold.
If I have to do nothing during the next few weeks to ensure that happens, so be it! Even if we get good news at the end of it, I still don't intend to go back to the farm. My aim is to enjoy every step of this, even if this is as far as we get.
I have to give it every chance possible to succeed.

I am continuing to send positive thoughts your way Krista! I bet that once you are "official" your husband will treat you like a fragile flower...which will probably drive you up the wall!
Today was a busy one for me. Up early to head into town to run some errands and to find out what is taking the cost estimate for our house so long to put together. Pretty tough to estimate cost with no plans! DH knew this four days ago. So I ask him if he had them make a copy of the plans (they are always in his truck). Well, no, he tells me! UGH!!
He's making me crazy, the contractor is making me crazy, our guy at the bank is making me crazy...and I refuse to lose my mind while we are building this house!
Then I came home and joined DH at the property. He was busy cutting down some basswood trees. Didn't want them to fall on the new chicken coop at some later date. I cleaned out the garden, checked on the raspberry bushes and my lilac trees and then went through some boxes upstairs.
Now we are home, dogs are passed out from all their "hard work" and I think DH and I will be asleep on the couch before long!

I picked up my new hen today. 
I've been told she's a Red Sex Link. She's a absolute sweetie pie and I can't wait to collect eggs from her!

Hey there fellow java jabbers! It is flaking up here but no major snow, phew! I got to meet my second granddaughter yesterday. Cute and precious of course as chubby 6 month olds are known to be. I wish she lived closer for sure!
Busy week with horse stuff, granddaughters and kid stuff and who know what all is in store.

Aw, I think having grandchildren far away would be a difficult thing to handle.
I loved the baby, toddler and ...up to puberty part. then the brain melts leaks out their ears and ... then they solidify and and are okay again.
I have been so good about this going far away to school thing until last night when his school had him do a room mate match survey and I was... no, no, no. No more nerds!
You need fresh air and someone with a tan! Find a room mate with a tan at least.
You need some one to complement you, not reflect you.
And then it hit me, mom has to let go.
all go -all of it. He hopefully will learn these things for himself.
If we have not instilled the values by now, we can't.
and now I realized he'll meet someone who lives far away get married have kids and live far away...I might not get to see them much.
I'll have to get more dogs.

Far away grandkids -
. We did that with one set until they were 9 and 7. The oldest I have never developed a real close relationship with, but that is more a result of her personality than mine. Her brother and I are best buds as I am with their 'little' brother.

Good morning! I need that extra cuppa now. There was a Tornado Watch that didn't expire until 11pm last night. Of course I can't sleep during those. After it expired the severe thunderstorm hit around midnight and lasted until 3am. I was already jittery about tornados, so the last thing I needed was to hear the wind whipping around the house.
This is the only thing I don't like about warmer weather. There was a Tornado Warning on Friday evening as my oldest was leaving for Boy Scout canoe camp and I was as nervous as a cat in a roomful of rockers. But they made it west of the storm okay (storm was moving east) so it was just me and the young one to stay and worry about the animals while the sirens were wailing.
On Saturday, a wild duck hatched 13 babies at my mother's house so the little one and I went over to check them out before the sun went down. There were no one on the nest so we started walking down the street towards the pond a couple of blocks away. On the way we ran into a neighbor (wearing big sunglasses which I thought odd at the time; only later realized she was hiding tears from her kids) clutching a baby duckling. Her kids had reported that another kid was using ducklings for throwing practice so she and her husband had run out to stop it. She grabbed the only chick that hadn't been harmed. Meanwhile her husband had taken the delinquent to the delinquent's house to speak to the parents but there was only a big sister home who responded like a typical apathetic teenager (according to him). Then he found one chick still alive among the others and brought it to me. Several neighbors were out helping by that point, trying to find either the mother or other living babies but no luck. So now I have two mallard ducklings in my brooder. The injured one seems to have recovered nicely and is almost as active as its sibling. Both are eating and drinking well. During last night's tornado alert, as we discussed our plan of action, my oldest announced that he would grab the ducklings on his way to the shelter (his priority is to get his baby brother and himself to the shelter...I take all responsibility for the animals...if there is time). So he's getting attached but I'll keep reminding him that mallards usually leave when grown.
What a weekend! Now I need to rest...

I do not understand how anyone can get any joy from hurting another animal -people or duckling.
By that age, is it too late? Do they become psychopaths?
