Hot water and Epsom salts help, but time is the only cure. I knelt in a nest of chiggers once and the hottest bath and Epsom salt really helped.
I think the heat helps to denature the proteins that cause the allergic reaction.
 
I really liked it up north. The cool air, the higher altitudes- no sinus pain for the first time in six years-... only saw one insect and it was a praying mantis.
and they have apples. Real apples hanging from trees. fresh ones.
 
Although I did have and orange up there, and it was as awful as the apples they send us. I suppose in order for the fruit to ship and be in any kind of shape to be purchased, it has to be picked green and they never fully recover.
