Bear stuff still going...., funny reading anyway!
Anybody have any suggestions on how to get a bear, Barney I think, out of a tree right next to our house. He's way up, maybe 20' above a 2nd story deck. Already tried banging on a pot and an airhorn as well, just makes him climb higher. Thinking of taking a hose up to deck and spraying him.
i had one in a tree in my yard2yrs ago,my dog chased him higher ,shots in the air ,he went up not down, now that you hazed him ,walk away go inside he will probably leave like the one here did, once he was down ,he left real quick like
, is that weird noise we're hearing (sort of a weak fog horn/siren) your attempt to scare Barney away? Good luck and keep us all posted!! PS I saw "Joy & Oak's bear" of a couple days ago when it walked across the edge of the cliff above our house. It just kept walking (7pm). Big guy.
hose didn't work either, anyone have a BB gun with plastic BB's?
I think you just want to leave him alone and he'll leave when he feels it's safe.
I would agree with ###########. And you've probably sufficiently traumatized him that he won't be back for a while.
Bear in tree? Set up a card table at the base of the tree. Add a tablecloth, a vase with fresh cut flowers, an open bottle of pinot, and a roasted chicken fresh outta da oven. Then go take a long hot shower. By the time you dry off, he will have eaten everything and ambled on. With any luck, he will have left a generous tip ...
Up here in Bear-K Ranch the chickens don't even need to be cooked....
