Yeah, it's almost comically easy.
This is the basic recipe:
Peel and cut up enough apples to fill a pie plate about 3/4 full. Toss apples with a combination of cinnamon and sugar, put in the pie plate.
Melt 1 stick of butter. Combine with 1 cup of flour, one cup of sugar, and one egg. Spread over apples. Bake in a 350o oven until crust is lightly browned (about 30 minutes).
You can vary it a bunch of different ways to suit your taste - chopped nuts, vanilla, nutmeg, etc. I like to use Granny Smith apples, and use half brown sugar, half white.
