Morning all! It's been way to hot here so I'm hoping we get some rain today, it seems like some small showers are in the forecast. I managed to watch some of the Olympics last night, gymnastics and swimming. The gymnastics was interesting, lots of strength is needed to do some of those tricks I would imagine. Mornin'! Did someone say coffee?
Dressage shows the amount of control the rider has over the horse - shortening and lengthening strides, etc. It also demonstrates the horse's suppleness. To be good at dressage, a horse needs the balance of a dancer and a patient, willing mind. To tackle the cross country, a horse must be bold and very fit. It probably goes without saying that most top level eventing horses aren't really good at dressage; the riders mostly try to get through with the fewest blowups.

Ahhh okay, that makes sense. Doh, should have thought of that

and ahh yeah, i can see how those traits would be conflicting lol probably have to be somewhat feisty too to be bold and brave for the cross country, can't be gentle and patient well they could but sometimes those are also lazy and/or slow moving depending on the horse. Makes sense. I don't really know much about dressage but always thought it was interesting

Good Morning. Lots of rain here in Mn. Lots of hot muggy weather that makes us actually welcome our cool fall and freezing winter. LOL. Our Chickens are producing every day even though their coop isnt finished. They have made themselves makeshift nests out of some hay in the stall they live in right now. I think they will love their new coop. Mmmmm coffee is really good this morning. Help yourselves to the cookies I made with fresh eggs!! Very yummie.

Thanks, Scott. We're in the 'dog days' of summer. Very hot, very humid (sauna level) and absolutely no air movement.

All that being said, it still beats winter and snow.
