Hey Jed, never knew you lived in WA. My son does too. He's been getting better temps than my sister in NM. How cold does it get?

Depends on which side of the mountains he lives on. On the east side it is much colder. On the west side where I live, it usually goes down to the 20s most winters, but can get to around zero.

Sour is no such thing. Princess would never allow a varmint in the house. She won't even allow his Beagles in the house. Only Pugs that come to visit.

That's a good reason. It's not easy to grow where I live, so not worth it for that purpose, either.

She used to, anyway. Not sure if she still does. Speaking of okra...why does it have to be so slimy? That's one veggie I just can't deal with.

Guess you never had a bowl of Louisiana gumbo,extra tasso wid a big scoop of potatoe salad on the side! Besides fried its the best way to try okra. Fried is not really slimy imo.

Yeah, that's on the west side of the Cascades, just east of Seattle. It's about 90 miles south from where I am, so a bit warmer there. We get frost up here, and snow some winters, but temps rarely drop below the 20s, and many winters it doesn't go much below freezing. Mostly we just get endless rain.
