Here's the best we can do for now guys. Two jelly bean sized chicks.

Will try again in a couple of days, we don't want to be near the nest for too long and make mama mad.

@sourland @ronott1 sorry, can't remember if anyone else asked for pics.

Have a great night everyone.

Wow. How fragile. How lucky are you that you get to witness this?

IM what you really need is a telephoto lens - you could keep your distance and still see everything.:yesss: I used to have 2 point & shoot cameras with short zoom capabilities, but they are well past their prime and not doing well.

Hey, wanted to give an update. My Dominique Sophie that was sick pulled through nicely, back to the flock eating and pooping. However now my Golden Comet hen Peekaboo is sick!:he she was overly drinking on Monday, with a pendulous crop. Brought her in and went to the University clinic Tuesday a m. They evacuated her crop and did crop and fecal Grams stain. It indicated clostridium rods. Did piprocillan I M every 6 hours for 24 hrs, then switched to oral clavamox every 8 hours for 10 days. :barnie(she hates me now.)

Now she is pooping a more normal consistancy but no appetite today, crop still very slow and still inside with the heat lamp.Otherwise is bright and active. Currently having a recess in the back yard with her flock.

I, on the other hand am depressed and very concerned. Tending to cocoon and keep to myself through the trouble times. Thank you for all the kindness and concern for me and mine.
Awww Becca.:hugs
Lucky having a University clinic close enough to go to.
It used to annoy me how easily one of those clucking feather dusters could ruin a day when they are sick.
What halfwit said keeping chickens was easy and fun........:hmm

I know what you mean. When I went to greet new members I kept getting confused and going back to ones I had already finished. A nap after the first one, didn't help at all.

Then my spaghetti sauce is missing something but, I can't figure out what.

The grocery bus comes about 10 am to 10:15. Today they called at 8 am to say the bus was coming. I wasn't dressed, had to "borrow" from the hamper to find something not too soiled to wear. Deja vu I'm sure I had the same problem earlier in the week.

And forgot to take most of the pills & supplements AGAIN this week. I think "my needle is stuck.":th

I feel so lucky Dobie. It was just by chance I saw her land and stay, then realized there was a nest. If we hadn't been sitting in the car listening to Hotel California before bringing in groceries we may have never realized the nest is there.

do the chicks just stay in one place - I mean not buzz and hum around like adults. When do they start the incessant motion? Surely hummers must sleep or something.:idunno

I don't know when they start to fly. They'll be in the nest up to 3 weeks. Hubs has a very good digital camera with various lenses. No computer at the moment though so I had to take a pic of the screen on his camera with my phone to share. Kinda sucks. If my kid would pay her own bills we could fix that.

G'morning cafe. Shad thanks for the coffee!

How ironic. You have the Eagles to thank for the hummingbird!
