Meanwhile, here in the sultry South, we have 100° F and 24% humidity, resulting in a heat index that is
less than the actual temperature (something that just doesn't happen!!) Trees and shrubs are dying of root rot all over the place - last year, it was so wet, the poor things were sending up snorkels 'cause their roots couldn't breathe (and you thought only cypress had knees!), this year, we are flirting with drought conditions, and the poor babies just can't take it.
@A_Fowl_Guy I've never actually
seen a tornado (here in what the storm chasers call "the jungle," you generally don't, until they are right on top of you), but I've picked up debris from near misses several times, and my parents' house was demolished by one in 1984. I keep an eye on the weather radar, and take the warnings very seriously!
