:yesss: The play that the Princess is in was supposed to have a free preview to a church group tonight - Why a church group when every other word is an 'F' bomb is beyond me. Anyway due to the rampant tornado threats, deluging thunder storms, all over flooding apparently 'the show must not go on'. I am very happy that she does not have to go out in this weather. Some power must have realized that this play was not a good fit for the church folk. One cast member texted the Princess that it is an omen.

WTH ? We are presently under a tornado warning. This is N J, folks.

Sour, I'm glad to hear that the Princess won't be going out in that mess, too.

Meanwhile, here in the sultry South, we have 100° F and 24% humidity, resulting in a heat index that is less than the actual temperature (something that just doesn't happen!!) Trees and shrubs are dying of root rot all over the place - last year, it was so wet, the poor things were sending up snorkels 'cause their roots couldn't breathe (and you thought only cypress had knees!), this year, we are flirting with drought conditions, and the poor babies just can't take it.:th

@A_Fowl_Guy I've never actually seen a tornado (here in what the storm chasers call "the jungle," you generally don't, until they are right on top of you), but I've picked up debris from near misses several times, and my parents' house was demolished by one in 1984. I keep an eye on the weather radar, and take the warnings very seriously!

Definitely should takes those warnings seriously. We had the warning out last time a tornado came by. I rushed to secure the animals. At that time we had a few Berkshire hogs and I had to make sure they were locked up. Chickens had to be secured and our old donkey (miss that old man) was brought into the basement.

Because I’m a hillbilly

Dani update: We just got back from the vet's, and after a thorough physical, and numerous X rays this is what we know. Her heart and lungs appear to be fine, but there is a grapefruit sized mass on her spleen. Blood was drawn for a complete screening - we had background blood drawn for comparison two or three years ago. If blood work indicates no major problems next visit is to a radiological internist for a search for any metastasized tumors. If she appears clear we will have her spleen/tumor removed and go from there. We went through the same thing with our last golden, Livvie, and bought her another 1.5 years of good health. Whether or not this had anything to do with her last episode ? ? ? Right now she thinks that nothing is wrong with her, but we know better. From here on it is all about what is best for her - not for us.

Realistically this is no big surprise.

Keep us posted Sour. And hugs for Dani, the Princess and you :hugs

Boy, did those pictures bring back loads of Kansas memories (and not in a good way).

We have a storm warning as of now but I’m on the lookout for rotation. Birds aren’t flying so I know weather is coming.

In all seriousness, stay safe! I've been through a few, spent many nights in a cellar besides.

I can't wait to take phone call on Friday....you want to know why your homeowners rates went up? Let me read you the weather reports from the cafe for the last 9 months...that's why!

Exactly. I’ve got DB and DS on alert since the Mom And POP are in Indy for the week.
