Wow that dog sounds like he definitely had something very wrong with him!! Ha probably better he was put down. No warning even is scary. I understand some dogs are protective and will bark or growl, intimidating and scary but at least there is a warning, and even trained attack/police dogs, are usually trained to go for the arm or leg, just a takedown to temporarily incapacitate them until the handler gets there, but NOT lethal. This dog sounds like he was in full on hunting, stealth, go for the kill mode, not even protective. He sounds like he was full on stalking and hunting you. Scary!! What did boyfriend do? Knock him out the sky? Pin him down? I imagine he would not have appreciated that very much. Scary. Glad you are okay.

I agree, think there was some sort of mental instability going on there. BF knocked the dog one direction and me the other. I was able to scramble out the garage bay and BF somehow managed to get the dog backed into the service station office (I was too shook up to see how he did that).

Mini has been very tolerant of the pup, even when Sunny chews her ears or her big dog bone. She also will not touch the puppy's food, even though it is on the floor in a small dish.

Yeah for sure!! Sounds like he had some neurological disorder or something too. And oh wow that sounds intense and scary!! He could have calmed down after you left too or even just after he knocked him out of it. Especially if it was neurological or something sometimes they act very scary or unlike themselves and then right after back to their sweet selves and appear sorry or like they don’t even know what happened. That could be how he got him back in. Or he could just be a very dominant psycho dog and not have something neurological. Who knows. Ha just glad you’re okay and that he was put down even though it’s sad. Probably best for everyone.

While most breeders normally tend to upgrade their lines, and breed for the best, dog breeds often tend to become popular as a trend. When that happens, it opens the door for a lot of unscrupulous breeders, that care nothing about the dogs, or the people they sell to. All they care about is the money. In our part of the county, crime is increasing. Mostly break ins, and theft. More and more people are opting for a larger dog as a deterrent.

While there is nothing wrong with many of these breeds when purchased from a good breeder, and an understanding that a large breed dog is NOT a poodle, or a lap dog, so their needs are somewhat different, when unscrupulous breeders begin flooding the market with inferior dogs, lacking good genes, and temperament, you end up with chaos, and that breed getting a bad reputation.

Another thing, I've always said a dog picks it's owner. I stand on that. None of these dogs really wanted to interact with us. Yes, one came to me for a pet for just a moment, then took off running after it's siblings, and that was that. Even that one did not interact with Dh at all.

I 100% agree!! And wow they don’t seem very friendly at all.
