Guess I should wake up before trying anything cute

That looks pretty good to me! :thumbsup I don't eat much whipped cream, but I like the idea of it.

Poor Fat Bird! :hugs

We take our kids to the fair every year. Its all they know & they love it, but its just too big & crowded for me to enjoy. As a kid I was also raised going to big city fairs. They were long, hot, crowded days & we could never buy anything or play games or do rides. As a kid I never really saw the point.

The best fair I ever went to was in a small town up in WA state. It wasn't a big county fair, just a small cozy thing. It wasn't hot & it wasn't crowded. DH & I had only been married a few months. We got our picture taken in a booth. I ate my very first elephant ear & we laid on the grass & watched the local boys do a firework show that was practically right over our heads. For a poor, lonely city girl it was like living in a Hallmark movie. That's one of my very best memories.:love

I didn't realise you are a poor city girl gone feral Roomy?:)
I used to take my girls to the funfair that traveled around the West country in the UK. The problem for me is the girls wanted me to go in the rides with them. I was as sick as a dog by the end of the night.:(
We also went to some of the farm market fairs. They were a real struggle. Everywhere seemed to be trying to sell you baby somethings. Of course, the girls wanted baby everything.

Some of us girls still want baby everythings

I am. :yaThe difference is that as a kid I hated being poor, but as an adult I'm trying to live a simple life on purpose. It makes me feel a little bit like a rebel, nonconformist (& you know I love that!) :wee

I think raising a family living a simple life is a good thing Roomy, a very good thing. You're teaching your kids a lot.

We weren't poor as kids but my father was as tight as a ducks arse. He had other good qualities but parting with money wasn't one of them.
I'm poor now. I haven't always been. I lost interest in making money quite a few years ago.
I may live to regret it but I like my simple life here with the animals. As I say to my eldest, I must like it to put up with the crap I have to here.;)
I put everything I had left into this house. My pay, if you can call it that, is $220 per month.:lau I make a bit from selling lamps and stuff and I have no rent to pay and grow some food but it's tight.
I got offered a job in the UK last year. Not fantastic money, but enough. I didn't take it. I prefer my life here and something it took a few years to work out, having time. Everything used to be such a rush in the UK. Even if you made decent money you didn't have the time to enjoy it.
