BYC Café

Good morning, café. Had over an inch of rain this weekend, but with it came some crazy hail. We didn't get any at home, thank goodness. Have seen quite a few pictures of people with golf ball sized hail and much damage. Windows broken, metal roofs destroyed and plenty of crops gone to the birds. Only one of our hayfields got hit, lucky for us!

Got a lot of August b-days in our family and I love, love, love birthdays. I start telling everyone a month in advance so they do not forget. :p This year is a little different without ma around. Hers is 4 days after mine. Just one of those things, I guess. Always going to be something.

Hope everyone is doing well! Sounds like I should never ever complain about heat again :D I would fall to bits in 114 degrees. Was 41F when I got up this morning!

Hot and cold are relative Meg...it depends on what you're used to. We complain and it bites, but we still live here ;)

As for moms and birthdays, my moms is the day after mine so I get it. Although she's still around, when she didn't live nearby it was weird because we always celebrated together and I missed that so much :hugs

That's true, IM. I'm constantly complaining about the weather, but I guess I count myself lucky to have not much else to whine about.

Thanks for your understanding. :hugs Are you and your ma doing any better?

My Relatives from they Bay Area would not come visit us in the upper sacramento Valley in the summer for that very reason-- could not take the heat!

Wow really? That’s so interesting.

The dangerous kind seems to be everywhere lately and it is scary.
It is here in the Stockton Channel currently. It is here most summers though and it is the type of blue algae that is dangerous. There was a warning about it this week in the news

That heat is madness! We might hit 100 once or twice a year, but not this year. Usually, it's 90 through July and August. A balmy 77 today :D The rain we got this weekend put a hurting on the fires, so we're pretty smoke free now.
