I missed what happened to Dobies potential dog & what happened to IM's face...

Sorry about whatever happened with the dog Dobie & sorry you're still not well Cap!

I had an appointment set up to see the dog in NJ. My friend who owns Shadow (Ben's buddy) also took time off work to come see the dog and do a meet and greet with him and Shadow. The dinkus owners adopted him out to someone on Long Friggin' Island 2 days before I was supposed to see him. Completely inconsiderate if you ask me. (Yep... still sore about it).
"Oh, they have a big yard" they said. Yeah, right. Like a Dobie can run his butt off in a "big yard". I run my dogs on a 50+ acre parcel. They also insinuated that my dogs were not exclusively indoors. Well, no, I guess they're right. I run them outside and demand that they relieve themselves outside. I guess that makes me a terrible dog owner.

Some are. I get mine from Ikea here. They last well for a few years. Cost under 200 Euros.
Call that 4 years at 50 Euros a year. That really isn't a major outgoing even on my limited budget.
You can spend a lot of money on a mattress and many will last a decade. You can buy a cheaper one and change it more often.
I'm in the "spend more money less often" crowd. Everything that is replaced goes in the landfill. I wish things (all things) were manufactured to last. I'd gladly pay 4X for something that will last 10X as long rather than buying cheap and replacing it every year when it breaks. Worse is when things AREN'T cheap and still don't last. Used to be major appliances worked for decades, now they are expected to die in 8 or so years

Catalonia! 3 of my grandparents were born in Spain. My maternal grandmother was born in Barcelona as was her mother. My father's brother's wife was also born in Barcelona.

I'm an immigrant here. I'm Scottish. I really like it here.
I agree about the cost/quality stuff. When I had more money I would go the quality less often route.
The mattresses I buy are fit for purpose and comfortable enough. I used to sleep on something called a Futon and as long as it got care for properly I found it extremely comfortable. It took getting used to though.

I'm still sour about this for you :he
Do these people have dog litter boxes??:th
Some people are painfully stupid.

That sounds like our Walmart...even when it isn't close to a holiday

I think they know what's on my list when I walk in and hide at least 3 items out of 10.
I finished getting the rest of the stuff from a local chain calle Bel aire. It is pare of Raleys here

Well, with little time to spare, I got my Christmas shopping done. Phew. Not sure why I insist on doing this to myself. The fun thing is that I so rarely go to town there are all kinds of new things to see. :p

On my way home I was going to stop for fuel, but my husband called and my baby Chickie Buns had been kicked in the head by a cow. By the time he called she was coming out of temporary paralysis, but not out of the woods. Obviously I forgoe'd the gas station and hauled ass home. About 45 minutes later she finally started to come out of it. No more cows for my girl. Don't know what I'd have done if I lost her.

I hope she's alright Meg. A kick like that is serious stuff.
