Igor told me about a story he read in the news. An oil well worker in Canada was checking on a remote well when he found 3 kittens frozen to the ground. He used the hot coffee from his Thermos to melt the ice and rescue the kittens. They've been adopted as a trio and will be able to stay together.

Good morning Café. Was glad to find on our return that the new animal caretaker did a great job. The woman who has cared for my animals for 30+ years retired and moved to Fla. Think the new person is going to do just fine.

I'll admit that I was concerned. We try not to travel this time of year because of the weather. This person lives a short distance from us, and could access the house on foot if necessary.

That's a great find!
My friend and his wife who own a boarding facility 1 mile from my house always keeps my dogs when I make guide dog runs. He loves my dogs, handles them in agility and they adore him. I will miss that convenience and peace of mind after the move. Currently, I refuse to leave my dogs with anyone but him. Not sure how that's going to resolve itself. I worry about that.
